Workplaces that are more diverse and inclusive are more productive and profitable “Companies with more culturally and ethnically diverse executive teams were 33% more likely to see better-than-average profits.” (Strauss, Forbes 2018). They recruit better talent, have a wider swath of ideas to chose from, and have higher morale, a key factor in employee retention. Creating a workplace where everyone can be authentically themselves, can speak up, can be heard, feel respected and motivated is a moral and financial imperative. And it’s about more than just completing the required online courses. If we want to improve the culture at an organization, we have to have new behaviors. And if we need new behaviors we have to have hands-on practice to rehearse those behaviors in a safe environment. The DEI Works Program does just that with demonstrations, reflections, activities, and role play.
